Baylor- where it’s easier to make a 4.0 than it is to find a good man

Hello all! This is my new blog about the trials and tribulations of being a single girl at Baylor (can I get an amen?) So if you’re reading this you’re probably aware of the extreme disproportion of women and men at our lovely university. The Baylor website claims that the student population consists of 60% female and 40% male undergrad students, and I’m thinking that’s a conservative estimate…I think it’s at least 65 to 35 but whaterrr. I read in a book for my relationships class that when women outnumber men in society that women are 1)more independent 2)wear shorter skirts 3) are looser (you know what I mean ladies) and 4)are more aggressive. They didn’t say whether this pertained to small Baptist universities, but I’m going out on a limb and say that for the most part it TOTALLY DOES! Now if you’re one of those girls that has been dating a Baylor boy since freshman year and you don’t understand what the heck I’m talking about, please quit reading now. Every other girl at Baylor is jealous of you and secretly hates you (that is if we were allowed to hate people at Baylor :)). The female dominated mindset (i.e. independent, short-skirt wearing floozy(yes floozy, google it) ) is pretty much the exact opposite of how I was raised. I’ve always been told to just be myself, trust in God and the right guy would come along. Obviously that hasn’t exactly panned out as of yet or I wouldn’t be writing this blog. Here landing a guy is an art form, a perfected sport, and something after three years I still don’t understand. We have all had to become more independent as Baylor girls (if you’re looking for a guy to come save you, be prepared for him to bring another girl along). I don’t exactly look at this is negative, I have so many awesome girlfriends and they are all smart and amazingly capable women…but let’s be honest it I still have my moments where being single doesn't exactly seem ideal. And it sure doesn’t keep us all from sitting around wondering if we should apply to be on The Bachelor and contemplating our future adoption of Asian babies. That’s why I’ve decided to use this blog as an outlet, a way to express the frustration and confusion, while also showing the lighter side of single woman-hood, short skirts and all. Because let’s be honest, all 60% of us are in this together.

  2. YESSSS! This is only the first one I've read but I already can't wait to read the others.

Also, just wanted to note the irony of asking for "amen." Get it? A...men?
